[AU] KilluaxReader: Reaching for You Chapter 2

The remaining people on the rival team are sweating their butts off. It was a laugh. No one on your team was even breaking a sweat! At this point, the game was 0-9. You, Gon, Kurapika, and Killua got three more guys out easily.

"Come on! This isn't even a challenge!", you yell, tauntingly. The girls on their team give you a glare of death. One of them smirk and chuckles, "Says the one who got abandoned by their own parents. I bet it sure was a challenge for you to live in an orphanage. But you live by yourself now with the orphanage helping paying off where you live, food, and school. They're probably helping you with other things as well. Poor (y/n). A weakling. Not knowing why her family doesn't even want her. But we do." She points at you and grins. "Because you're a stupid girl no one wants to hang out with. Those four boys are only hanging out with you because they feel sorry for you! They feel sorry that you're such a weakling! Because you're a loner! An outcast!" She then laughs.

The teacher was going to blow the whistle when all of a sudden, you yell loudly, "Shut up!" You're looking down and a shadow crosses your eyes but they can see tears flowing down your face rapidly. Everyone is staring at you now. "You don't know anything...", you say, gritting your teeth together. You then lift your head up and yell again, "You don't know anything about me!" You grab a ball and throw it as hard as you can at her. The ball flies across the court at such a fast speed. It hits the girl's head and makes her fall down onto her bum. The teacher finally blows the whistle. "That's an automatic out, (y/n)! And Yuki you're out too for bullying! You're going to have to talk to me and the principle after school!", he yells. The girl pouts and rolls her eyes before going to the bleachers.

You walk towards the bleachers slowly. Yuki snarls at you silently, "You b*tch! You're going to pay for that!" You say nothing and simply sit down at the bleachers. Yuki snorts and walks up the bleachers. She sits a few steps above you. You feel her glare through your skull. Killua Gon who has a very angry face. Gon slowly goes up to the bleachers where Yuki is and grabs her wrist, squeezing it tightly. She shrieks in pain. She glares at Gon and yells, "What the he-" She gets interrupted by Gon, "You made (y/n) cry so I had to get payback. Don't you dare make her cry again or else I will make sure that the payback is worse next time." A deadly tone can be heard clearly from the teen boy. Yuki's eyes widen in fear and gulps. "A-Aye s-sir.", her voice shakes badly.

Kurapika walks over to Gon. He puts his hand on Gon's left shoulder. The blonde boy says in a calm voice, "Gon. Calm down. You know that (y/n) doesn't like seeing you like this." Gon looks at you then smiles sweetly like he usually does. He closes his eyes and rubs the back of his head with his right hand. "Sorry (y/n). I just don't like anyone doing that to you. It just makes me so mad how they're so mean to you. But don't worry! I'll always be there for you. After all, we're best friends!", he apologizes. You just sit there with your knees pulled close to your face, not looking at Gon. "..."

Gon sighs and looks down, not knowing what to do nor say. Neither does Kurapika, Leorio, and Killua. The teacher sighs and blows the whistle again to start the game. All of a sudden, a ball is rushing towards Killua. However, he swiftly grabs the ball with his left hand with ease. He looks at the guy who thew the ball at him with a very bored look. "Did you really think that you'd hit me while I was distracted?", the light blue orbed boy asked. His voice also sounding like he's bored. The guy is standing there, frozen in fear. He then unfreeze and goes to the bleachers with his head down in shame.

Killua scoffs and mutters under his breathe, "Weak." Gon looks at Killua, hearing what he said since he has super hearing. The black and green haired boy then looks away. He walks back down from the bleachers with Kurapika following him from behind.

The rest of the game goes by quickly. Killua, Gon, and Kurapika took out the rest of the rival team. But, Leorio died take out one of them. It was mostly Killua, Gon, and Kurapika throwing balls or catching a few of them.

Everyone goes back to the locker rooms to go change. It takes five minutes for everyone to finish and for the bell to ring to signal that class is over. Also to signal to get to your next class. You walk out of the girls locker room last.

You see you're friends waiting for you in front of the boys locker room since it's right across from the girl's. You're still feeling very depressed. Gon goes over to you and hugs you gently. You slowly hug him back, crying silently. "Let's go to art class now. Ok?", he asks in a soft voice. You nod slowly, sniffing.

You both let go. You rub your eyes and nose and you stopped crying. Gon grabs your hand to lead you to art class. Kurapika and Leorio separate from the three of you since they're going to AP Calculus class. Killua follow you and Gon because he has art class as well.

His hands are in his pockets as usual. He watches the both of you in front of him. You all of a sudden become happy again and laughs at a joke Gon made. Killua blinks, confused on how you became completely happy all of a sudden. He wanted to know more about you and Gon. But he mostly wanted to learn about you. About who you are. About everything about you.
